VOLUNTEER CATALYST
National Volunteer Month Kick-off
Gulfport neighbors jumped into action — connecting, brainstorming, and laying the groundwork for a more connected, resilient future. Together, we reflected on why we volunteer, mapped local needs, swapped ideas for better outreach, and pitched real projects that need real help. The energy was electric as we identified volunteer gaps, discussed support needs, and culminated in a "Speed Pitch Round" where organizers shared their projects, laying the foundation for a centralized volunteer database. This is just the beginning.

Civic Engagement Research Meet-up's
Coffee, civic documents, and community
Over the three sessions, we came together for a deep dive into Gulfport’s founding documents. Through reading, research, and real conversation, we built a stronger understanding of how our local government is structured — and how we, as citizens, can engage with it more effectively. Next, we let what we’ve learned ripple out — through real conversations, community action, and a sharper focus on holding our leaders accountable. Civic engagement doesn't end with understanding; it starts there.

Before knowing who to vote for, you must know what you're voting for
This catalyst was designed to spark conversations and generate questions in an effort to clarify and articulate the roles of our local government. Understanding the responsibilities of the positions we’re voting to fill is essential for making informed decisions.
